Executing a Research Game Plan for 2026

We’re really excited to share our latest episode, Executing a Research Game Plan for 2026,” where we’re trying something new with our genealogy research. This episode is all about mixing old-school methods with some newer technology. Plus, it kicks off a year-long project that we hope will change how we tackle our family history work.

In Executing a Research Game Plan for 2026,” we decided to split up and try two totally different approaches. Amy is sticking with a traditional genealogical research plan. She’s picked out two specific research questions to work on all year. She’ll be using the classic methods that have worked for genealogists forever—you know, careful source citations, thorough analysis, and keeping everything well documented.

On the other hand, Penny is doing something different by working with artificial intelligence. She’s actually creating two separate research plans using two different AI programs. This way, we can compare how they work against each other and see how they measure up to Amy’s traditional approach. Since AI is becoming a bigger deal in genealogy, we figured it was time to see what it can really do for us.

During the episode, we walk through our game plans in detail. We talk about our research questions, explain why we chose our methods, and share what we’re hoping to accomplish. We also mention two genealogy books we’ve been reading, but honestly, most of Executing a Research Game Plan for 2026 is about laying out our plans and how we’re going to make them happen.

Whether you’ve been doing genealogy for years or you’re just getting started, this podcast episode has something useful for you. You’ll pick up some practical tips for planning your own research. You’ll see how AI is starting to change things in genealogy. And hopefully, you’ll get some ideas for organizing your own family history projects this year.

Come along with us as we put our research plans into action and share what we find throughout 2026. Subscribe so you can follow our genealogy experiment from start to finish. Let’s make this year count for our family history research!
